Sheep - Another Townie Question

Recommended Posts

We've got a few sheep we're looking after. Last evening 2 ewes were headbutting each other for about 10 minutes and in the end one fell down and rolled over onto its back. The others looked at it and walked off leaving it struggling. It couldn't right itself at all so mrs w went over and gave it a shove and as soon as it got it's footing, it got up and started munching grass like nothing had happened.

Would it have got up in the end? It was struggling for a good 5 minutes and couldn't manage it.

Also there's a ram in the field (it looks at me funny) :icon_eek: and when it eats, it gets down onto its front knees (or is that elbows)? Is that normal or do we have a deformed ram?

You really need to get back to the city you fukcing useless twat ........

I can't believe the most recent pm he sent me ......

By the way Walshie... thats called a horse lol

Big fat commercial sheep are like beetles when they get stuck on their backs, and can die. When upside down the can't belch or cud and gas builds up in the rumen, unless tipped back up they can suffocate cos the pressure builds on the diaphram and they can't breath properly.

In my experience most sheep grazing on their knees have painfull feet - normally foot rot.
